Maria Tseng works with clients to build marketing strategies and plans.

Maria's early career as the product manager of a mainframe computer operating system gave her a broad understanding of computer technology and the IT value chain from chips to applications. More recently, Maria defined the business and useability requirements to engineers to build a corporate web portal.

Maria helps clients define their business models and partnership programs. As a consultant to Cisco Systems, Maria launched and managed the worldwide Service Provider Sales Best Practices Program. She researched and delivered more than 200 sales best practices and tools that were derived from strategic wins that drove major initiatives such as IPTV and TelePresence. She evangelized Web 2.0 collaboration platforms including WebEx.

Previously, Maria led teams to negotiate technology licenses for Cisco's Enterprise Group. She gained the intellectual property rights to seed the formation of the HyperTransport consortium. She also licensed new technologies for network security, error detection and correction, and VoIP. She also managed partnerships with university research programs.

In addition to the networking industry, Maria spent ten years marketing semiconductors. She was the business development director of a vendor of multimedia ASICs and was a marketing manager of semi-custom semiconductors.

Maria's operating experience includes being a co-founder of Echo Canyon Software where she brought to market a visual programming environment for Windows. Echo Canyon's contract engineering service offered tools and consultation to developers of end-user applications.

Maria is passionate about entrepreneurship especially of web-based businesses. She donates her time and expertise to organizations that foster entrepreneurship including the Silicon Valley Chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum, the VLAB.

Maria holds an MBA in marketing and did graduate work in artificial intelligence.
